Efren Penaflorida - is really an inspirational to everyone

Right now I'm watching Profiles in ABS-CBN, the topic was about  RP"s very own Efren Peñaflorida who was awarded as  2009 CNN Hero of the Year. Cheche Lazaro the host of  Profiles was doing an interview with Efren. They tackled about Efren's life and how he come up with this "pushcart classroom."  In his acceptance speech he mentioned that"Each person has a hidden hero within, you just have to look inside you and search it in your heart, and be the hero to the next one in need." If  im not mistaken he received more than 5M pesos.  He would pledge the prize money to the children that his group, the Dynamic Teen Company, is helping. He said that he will not get anything from this money. Anyway, if your not familiar with Efren - the Cavite City native pioneered a brand of mobile education, or the "pushcart classroom," for urban poor youth. Started a ‘pushcart classroom’ in the Philippines to bring education to poor children as an alternative to gang membership.

Aside from this award given by CNN  Efren also got an award from Malacanang its a Lakandula Award. The Order of Lakandula is one of the highest honors given by the Philippine government. It is an order of political and civic merit, awarded in memory of Lakandula’s dedication to the responsibilities of leadership, prudence, fortitude, courage and resolve in the service of one’s people.

Penaflorida won for his unique way of teaching out-of-school-youths by using his push cart loaded with books and other education materials.
